                     The aroma of acetic acid in the darkened kitchen;

                     the camera “smell” when my dad’s Rollei  viewfinder was opened;

                     are etched in my memory.

Sixty years ago I would sit on the counter in my mother’s kitchen, transformed into a darkroom for my father’s hobby, and watch the magic occur in white enamel pans.

  My photographic career was spawned by these early life experiences. From the Kodak Brownie Hawkeye at age seven to a used Rollieflex , a gift from my Grandfather, also a photographer, at age ten. A four by five Speed Graphic soon followed.

  Teenage years found much of my work in Desert Magazine and other similar publications like Arizona Highways. David Muench was a hero to me. The local newspaper published my “newsy” photos. I was truly hooked.

After graduating college my first full time photography “job” came quickly. I was hired as a photographer and lab tech for an aerospace company. While working in aerospace I developed an interest in motion picture production. Fortunate to have a mentor, I was able to continue working while returning to school.

  Photographic luck followed me, even as the aerospace industry crashed at the end of the Vietnam War. I was hired by Disneyland as a photographer/cameraman. Disneyland provided the jumping-off point to a twenty year career at various divisions of the Walt Disney Company.

Freelancing was a natural evolution eventually leading to the creation of my own media/publishing company.

  Now I wish to share some images that ignited in me emotion and memory of  people, places, and things.
